Skin and scalp problems can affect your comfort and your confidence. Our doctors look for what is behind the problem, then plan care from the inside and on the skin.

  • Registered Ayurvedic doctors
  • A full assessment before any treatment
  • At our Anuradhapura clinic or online
  • Consultations in Sinhala and English

Problems we commonly see

  • Psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema
  • Acne and pigmentation
  • Dandruff and scalp problems
  • Hair thinning
  • Selected other skin and hair conditions

Not sure if yours fits? Ask us. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.

How we work: cause → signs → remedy

  1. Find the cause. What is driving it: diet, digestion, stress, sleep, skin-care products or other health conditions.
  2. Read your signs. Which areas are affected, how it looks and changes, itching, and what makes it better or worse.
  3. Plan the remedy. Treatment chosen for you, not a standard package.

What treatment may include

Treatment depends on your condition. Your doctor decides on it after discussing it with you. It may include:

  • Herbal medicines to take at home
  • Herbal applications for the skin and scalp
  • Scalp and skin therapies, for example Takra Dhara (medicated buttermilk stream) and Thalapodichil (cooling scalp paste)
  • Diet and skin-care advice

See all our treatments.

What to expect

  • First visit: 45–60 minutes with the doctor. Photos of flare-ups help. Bring any reports and your list of medicines and skin products.
  • Your plan: explained clearly, so you know what each step is for.
  • Therapy courses, where needed, are planned around your condition, so their length differs from person to person.
  • Follow-up visits to check progress and adjust your plan.

Go to a hospital first if…

  • Red, hot, painful skin that is spreading, with fever
  • A widespread rash with blisters or peeling skin, especially after a new medicine
  • Swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
  • A mole that changes shape or colour, or bleeds

Ayurvedic care is not a substitute for emergency care. If you have any of these, please get medical help the same day.

Common questions

Should I stop the medicines my other doctor prescribed?
No. Please don’t stop or change any prescribed medicine without proper medical advice.

Should I bring the creams I’m using?
Yes. Bring your creams, shampoos and skin products so the doctor can see what you use.

Can I consult online?
Yes. Clear photos help. Scalp and skin therapies need a visit to our Anuradhapura clinic.
